Go check out the pitman woods section at Balsters and if it's listed you'll find the length there too. They and other tractor supply places have the pitman woods for about $15-$20.

It shouldn't be too tough to figure out.

At each end of the knife stroke, the sickle sections need to be "in register", which means that the points of the sickle sections will be centered with the centerlines of the guards.

So, set up the pitman crank at one end of it's stroke, and the knife centered on the guards, and measure the pitman length needed to connect them. After cutting and drilling the pitman stick, check the knife "register" again.

Typically, mowers have an sdjustment built in to make minor corrections to get the "register" perfect.

That is the way for most mowers but some (JD #8 or #9) are different as there stroke is 1/4" past center registor on the guards with a 3 1/2" knife stroke compaired to a 3" stroke with most mowers. First you need to check (I do not know if the Case is a 3" 0r 3 1/2" stroke mower) the stroke by turning the crank wheel and measuring the distance the pin mover to each side as it makes each 1/2 reveloution of the shaft.
