So after 6 weeks of rain... My moco breaks....

Anyway, the bearing where the PTO goes into the gear box was destroyed.

So several hours later I cannot get the thing apart, and not really sure how to take it apart.

I tried loosening the bolts to the Gearbox, but it will only drop so far due to the output bearing/shaft etc.

I looked in the operators manual the closest thing I could find was to reverse the gearbox for 1000rpm pto. The great help was limited to 'remove gearbox and flip over'. Of course no instructions on how to remove gearbox....

Any PT10 experts?

I believe that the connection to the gear box is held by a coulping held by a long square key. Before that, the shaft section is held in place by a spherical bearing. I remove the tonque to get at that one and apply heat.

It's been a while since I did it, but as i recall you have to take the pully and the outboard bearing off the shaft. I think I wound up torching the bearing and replacing it. Even after you get the shaft stripped it is a little bit of a chinese puzzle to get the box out. It may be that you have also to unpin the tongue and pull the input shaft coupler off the gearbox as well. I do remember threatening to torch a big hole in the frame so that I would have room to work on it. If you still have trouble ask again and I will look at mine and try to figure it out.
