I personally would say that there are several models as some features seem to come and go on them. The picture is the most common model I see. I have a 1968 which looks slightly different.

Thanks KEH, your right it is a 9'3" cut. Yeah i know the colors are wrong, my neighbor was painting his restored 461 and got a deal on a whole bunch of paint. He offered to do the Hesston while he had the spray gun fired up, what can i say, the price was right!! Looks better than the red (rust) it was before.

JJ,

Hesston made 2 very different cutters they called a PT 10. The older one, which was my first moco, cut 8 ft and the later one cut 9ft 3 in. I had a later one which I bought to resell as I had a 469 NH Haybine by then. The Hesston would cut tall crops better than the NH and was heavier made. Yours looks like the later model made late 60s or 1970s. the book I have does not list the years. Older madel PT 10 made in the 1960s.

You realize you have it painted NH colors, don't you? Hesston is a lighter color red with some kind of off white reel color.

Nice log barn.

KEH
