Does anyone here use a portable band sawmill or use their tractors to power a sawmill? Also looking for a forum concerning sawmills and who might be in MS that does such work. With all the trees Katrina knocked down, there should be a bit of an oversupply of logs that could be used or turned into usable lumber instead of burned.

My buddy has a Logosol chainsaw mill. Swedish made but distributed out of MS or Ala, can't remmber which. His runs with a Stihl 066 1/4 ripper chain. Cost about $3000 incl saw. Very portable weighs ~120 pounds. We just cut 5 logs this week with it. This mill will surprise you. Go to www.logosol.com.

You might also try forestryforum.com, they have a bb for sawmills, and a find a forester/sawmiller feature. May have to register to post, but it's free
