I bought a heavy duty ( bushhog ) style mower at an auction sale a few years ago and it was painted John Deere green with 503 decals on it along with the John Deere decals. Always thought it was a John Deere until this summer when I needed bearings for the spindle. The Deere parts guy told me it was not a Deere as he did not have it in his catalogue. I found jobber bearings for it and got it running again. While greasing it the other day I noticed a ID plate in an obscure place and it said the mower was a Roto-Speed Cutter with a model of 2T and a serial no. of 11370. It was made by Lilliston Implement company in Albany. Did someone paint it green for something to do or did Deere actually buy some and paint them green.I like the setup as the PTO drives three belts which in turn drive the spindle . Any thoughts. Thanks
