I bought a pair of antique spoke steel wheels for the yard. They have a large hub with a gear cast into the inside for a ground drive. I believe they have the IH symbol cast into them, as well as "RA - 5850" as close as I can tell. They are about 3 feet in diameter. I'm just curious as to their history. Thanks.

If it is RA5050 it is a rake wheel

Based on your description, I would guess that you have wheels off a mule or horse drawn mowing machine

The same wheel, often with grousers, was used on horse drawn manure spreaders, and probably several other implements.
