451 NH mower

I have a 451 mower and I need to tighten the belt.Problem is I have never seen it done on this type of mower.Any info will be a great help.

There should be an adjustment nut under the pto shaft where the large pully attaches to the belt. The nut will be on a j-shaped shaft with a nut on the end. Tighten the nut and the belt should tighten. You should also be able to find manuals cheaper on ebay, hope this helps.

Big un,

I've got a 456 and I was lucky enough to get the original owner's manual (which covers both the 451 and 456) with it.

The manual has a few paragraphs and a pic describing how to adjust the belt.

E-mail me and I'll scan the page and send it on over.
