I was looking to purchase a used finish mower. What should I look for in buying one such as rear or side discharge? I was thinking 6 or 7' Thanks Chris.

I have a Walco Douglas 6" Rear Discharge mower that I"m getting ready to sell, I"m the second owner, and its not been used much sence we purchased it, and the previous owners didn"t use it much either, I"m selling it cause I"ve not used it at all this summer and really don"t have the room to use it to its full capicity. I went through the mower last fall before I put it up for the winter, so basically its ready to hook up and go. It does a great job and makes a really nice cut, the rear discharge is very helpful in either wet or heavy grass as it does not pulg up. E-mail me if you are interested.

I used to have a Landpride 7' rear discharge and it was great. I bought it brand new and it provided good service. But I traded it off on a brand new Kubota zero turn diesel with a 60" deck and I cut my mowing time in half. I would not buy a side discharge finish mower, the rear discharge make for a much cleaner cut in my opinion.

Mine is a BushHog brand 6' rear discharge. I like it a lot!
It came with the tractor I inherited (Ford 3930) and was near new when I got it.
Beware of cheap built finish mowers, if those decks and brackets are not stout enough to keep belts and pullys lined up well the problems can be "not worth thr trouble."

Oh, the rear discharge is great.
Just wish it was a 7 footer
