Based on input from many just purchased a White 588 plow. It is presently set up for 20 inch bottoms but I am told that it can also be set for 18 inch bottoms. Figure 5 - 18" would be better for my IH 1466- how do I convert over from 20" to 18"?

if i remember right these plows could set as 16"-18"-or 20" cut . on top of frame should be 3 sets of holes for each moldboard , on the iron the moldboard leg bolts to should be a set of 3 holes also for 18" cut you will need to use middle holes on both . how much do do you plan to plow ? before you do all this i would try plowing with it if you are plowing small amount as you will have a lot of the plow apart . i'm thinking you will need to change the hitch
on front of plow . see if you can get owners and setup manuals for this plow . let us know what you do .

Thanks- need to haul it home and see how good the frogs are- if they are good may try running as is-you are right- a lot of wrenching to move five bottoms on the beam- just thought of a farmer in the area that has a 588- if his is set for 18" I should be able to see how many bolts need to be moved- just ordered an operators manual that should be here in a week
