On average, what is a IH ACE bottom plow worth? is it more for more furrows? I have the oppertunity to buy two IH 3 furrow plows for 150 each. The guy says they are both in workable condition. Is this good? thanks

I have seen the Ace mentioned as being a sod plow. If you search the implement photos for sod plow you will see what I'm talking about.

Gwiz: The ACE bottom was designed and built by IH at the Hamilton Ontario plant. It was sold across Canada, in New England and Europe. It is an excellent sod plow, but works very well in stubble and trash as well. In fact an ACE bottom works as well in corn stalks as plows that had much more clearence.

For those of you who have never seen them, they have a lot of the charistics of modern day high speed bottoms coming out of Europe. Long and very gradual curved moldboard. IH quit building them about 40 years ago, and guess who filled the gap. (Kongskilde and Kevernland)

I think the Ace bottom plows were manufactured in/for Canada.
