Is the mower a McCormick, or a Deering? International Harvester Corp. maintained the two product lines separately for many years after they merged. If I remember correctly, the biggest difference in the color schemes was the seat and seat spring: on McCormicks it was red, and on Deerings it was slate-blue. The tongue was yellow, and the insides of the wheels were a cream color (like Case tractors in the 50's and 60's) and the wheel "tread" was the same slate blue as the seat and post. Do a web search for the Wisconsin Historical Society -- they have a wealth of information on McCormick-Deering/International Harvester Corporation, including many original corporate documents discussing color schemes (which can help you pin down exactly when an implement's color scheme changed) and full-color advertising posters from IHC operations all over the world. They're on eBay, too: Do a search for their eBay store name, WHS Images. I have attempted to attach a picture to this posting; if it didn't come through, shoot me an e-mail & I can send it to you directly.
