hey guys

just bought a 310 baler buts seems to be rather noisy

the packers don't seem to ride tin the track just right they have a bit of play

is there an adjustment i'm missing

i do have a manual for it but the guy i bought it from had the plunger and packer assembly all replaced with new parts including the needles

but the guy who put it back together for him didn't have a tractor to chk it with and they had never used it since it was fixed 10 years ago it was only two years old at the time it was done

I'm going to assume that you mean the feeder track assembly and not the plunger. They traditionally do have alot of slop in them, although it would be better for it if you tightened it up some. Those brown fiber wear blocks probably need replaced or shimed or both. Also, replace the plastic roller bearing caps. That will also help. Steve

Check your manual. There is a sequence for this adjustment. If you don't have a manual get one. You can order one from your NH dealer. The other side of it is the plunger rollers or the guides may be so worn that its impossible to get it within required tolerances. You may however quite it down and make it usable. Do not try to make the adjustments without a manual or an experienced baler mechanic.
