Morning, well I have been driving by these 2 pull type combines for 7 years now. They are on an old trail we use to get to where we duck hunt on private land. They are complete and were apparently used right up to the day they were parked there. Being one that is kinda interested in this old stuff, and hearing from my freind that owns the land next door, these peices are going to be hauled to the scrap yard shortly, and you know people always want more once they realize someone wants to buy them, even they intended on scrapping. What would be a fair price to offer the gentleman. I intend on restoring them, maybe taking them to threshor shows and possibly selling them one day to some one that will use them or cherish them like I do my old things.

Well if they are going for scrap if you can find out #1 what scrap price is in your area and also the weight of each machine. Then offer him say $25 more then what he could get for scrap and see if he bites. If he doesn't give him all the info you have found and he may just bite then knowing he would be getting more money from you then he would for the scrap price. Plus also say hey you will not even have to spend any money on gas to haul them off. So if say they weigh 2000LBS each and scrap is selling in your area for $75 a ton offer him $100 each

I suppose it depends on how badly you want them. You might offer him $100 if you"re looking for a bargain, or $500+ if you really want them. He might want more than they are worth if you express interest in them, but he is the owner and has the right to determine their fate.

FYI, I just bought a IH 80 in good running condition. Probably more than anyone else would pay, but I wanted it for a special project and would have paid more.
