International 2MH corn picker

I'm thinking about buying a 2MH picker for my 560D to pick about 15 acres of corn. Will this picker have a big enough capacity to handle today's yields of 175 to 215 bu per acre?

I have a 2MH mounted on a Super M and it will handle 200 bu corn but just barely. The main trouble is lack of power when pulling a heavy wagon in the hills around here. A 560 would have no power trouble and it should work just fine for 15 acres. I would suggest you buy a parts machine or two thou as parts are no longer avaiable from CIH for these machines.

Are you going to leave the picker on the the 560?

Mounting a 2MH and taking it off for 15 acres is a lot of work. I would consider buying a used pull type. If opening the field up is a concern with a pulltype, maybe you could havesomeone run through it with a combine.

I know it's a lot of work but I have the time and it's good for my sanity to have a throw back day to share the past with this younger generation. I was just wondering if the elevators to the husking beds could handle that much corn since they are significantly narrower than the 2MHD picker which I can't find.

The side elavtors have no trouble keeping the ears away but if you are going down a hill corn will bunch up were it dumps into the rear elavator. Doesn't plug up but it makes a pile that goes down when you get on level ground again.

For 15 acres, should work out. For 150 acres, I'd give a lot of thought... ;)
