The new holland 450 is almost identical to the sperry new holland 451. The settings are the same but the wobble heads are different, also there is a 540 pto shaft coming out of the 450 on the main pully. This shaft is not on the 451. Hope this helps.

are you taliking about the optional conditioner pto shaft? if you are ,i have a 451 that does have the shaft coming off the back of the main pully. I also have one that does'nt. So it may be a special order.

I was assumeing it was a typo on the 450. All my info is out of the 451 manual.

depending on which tractor you use it on set up may be a little different.according to the manual, you want the top of the frame level with the ground about 16 inches off the ground in the mowing position.tip should have a few inches lead to compensate for the drag which will pull it straight.

I think "dan" is refering to the 451 which is 3 point hitch. I don't know the age of mine either.

I've got one I got mounted on a Saginaw three point hitch, mounted on an M Farmall, yep that's right, an M Farmall, and I cut a little over a hundred acres this year and I love mine. The three point hitch lifts the mower and the bar, and you might have to adjust yours two or three times to get the lift adjusted right and the bar angle right for your tractor, but this is the best mower I've ever used. Use lotsa grease, 16-17 zerks, and you're home free. Good luck, Harley
