Side vs Rear Discharge Landscape Mower

2. The salesman is trying to push me towards a �Rear Discharge� Woods mower.

3. I cut yard and field (6 AC) grass. Sometimes the field grass can get to 24 inches tall and is a strain on the old RM660 side discharge mower. Can�t get rid of the cut grass fast enough.

4. Would the rear discharge type mower do better in heavy grass? Does it leave a smooth cut without clogs of grass behind the mower.

5. One thing I like about the side discharge is that I can shoot the cut grass away from the house and put it into a ditch. It makes for a very smooth and clean cut.

6. Anyone have any problems with Woods mowers?

They get rid of the grass quicker, and that means they will use less power. I prefer to not have to move the cut grass across the width mover to get rid of it.

Personally, i much prefer a rear discharge for a 3 point finish mower..
