Does anyone know anything about round international balers,241 or 2400? Are they good and do they make tight bales?

Used to own a 241 baler several years ago. Sorriest piece of **** I ever owned.
Really poor design, problems continually, makes a sloppy bale, won't bale unless conditions are almost perfect.
I like IHC stuff, but after owning a 241, makes you want to try other brands.

If you are looking for a good baler reasonably priced, try to find an earlier model "open throat" baler. An F series Vermeer would be a good baler. Also a Gehl(I can't remember where they started with the open throat)...I think it was either a 1450 or 1460. Also the late model New Holland chain type balers with air-bag bale tensioning made a decent looking bale. John Deere I'm not familiar with, except I know the 410's, 510's and earlier were closed throat. I'm not sure what model started the open throat Deere balers.

From what I've heard - no & no.

But I never ran one. I have an old Vermeer F, does ok, wouldn't want anything older/ lower tech.
