Hey ya all, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the model number on a JD 3-bottom trip plow. One more thing the dang tire on the trip side where the trip mechanizem is won"t come off I have try about everything. I took everything off and hit it with a sluge hammer. I have all tried soaking the sucker with iron wrench and WD-40. It"s is still on there good. Should I hook my lawnmower up with a logging chain and pull (LOL :-) ) is there something on back of the trip that needs to be undone or what. Thanks for your time

Is the tire stuck on or the hub? If it's the hub, then it's on a tappered shaft. To get mine off I took off the axle cap (held on with 3 nuts), then the wheel. I left the nut on that's on the end of the axle shaft covered in grease, and put a 3 jaw puller on the hub. I beat the back of the hub with little sledge and chunk of oak, and one day it popped right off. If it's got rubber tires it could be anywhere from a model 55 from the 40's up to one of the F600 series from the mid 60's. Really need some pictures or very good description to get more specific. Hope this helps.

Go over to implement photos and enter John Deere Plows or JD plows and several pages of pics of plows will come up to look at. Then when you know model can get a parts manual for it.

After an hour of frustration I put the hub back together and replaced the tire with the wheel on the my plow.
