Click on the Implement Photos site on the left side of the page & do a search for #8. Several photos will be available.

Your saying #8 and I can only assume you mean IH #8 Little Genius, am I right or wrong? Having said that are you sure it is indeed a #8 Little Genius. The #8 all had a caster type rear lift wheel with a linkage to left front wheel rockshaft which caused rear wheel to lift the back of the plow. I've never seen one of these with a mix of rubber and steel wheels. Usually if steel they are all steel and if rubber they are all rubber. Bear in mind 75 years has passed for the first #8 plows and rubber and steel wheels are quickly interchangable. They both fit the same axle.

Are you sure you don't have an IH #4 little Wonder plow. They look very much like a #8 with the rear wheel missing. Here is the bottom line, a #4 will operate and plow without a rear wheel. The #8 will not plow and operate correctly without the rear wheel. Some of the #4 had a rear wheel but it was a fixed wheel that neither castered nor lifted back of plow.

The little genius plow was available with steel wheels or rubber tires, niether option would be considered original or standard equipment. If the plow came with rubber, there were many different sizes of tires that you could choose from. It all depended on what the original buyer wanted. The little genius plow that I use was originally on steel, the front wheels have had the rims cut off, and rims for tires were welded on, so the front of the plow is on rubber, and the rear still has the original steel tail wheel. I do not consider this plow to be "incorrect".
