Can anyone give me some direction on how to remove gear box.I need to change drive pins and possibly the sickle drive pulley that house the drive pins that are suppose to drive the rollers.The preveiuos suggestion of welding the pulley and slip clutch sproket together are 1/2" apart from each other and don't come together enough to weld without starting weld on shaft and building up to weld pulley and sproket together.I do have a owners manual but it must be for newer model 477 when they changed from this design. The 477 I had about 8 yrs ago was the newer design was sold when I when out of hay business for 3 yrs. Thanks to Anyone that can Help !!

Whatever is keeping the two parts from coming together is probably what started your trouble to begin with. However, to answer your question, remove all the bolts holding the plate that the gearbox is fastened to. Then remove (Possibly cut off) the bearing at the end of the gearbox output shaft. (Actually, you may want to remove bearing first) Remove the chains and pto input and pull the box out. I still would get those parts together and weld the over-running clutch solid. Steve
