I have an Allis Chalmers sickle mower, unknown model, but I believe it is an 80 side mount. It is a twin drive, 2-point, with 7' bar. I am in need of an owners/parts manual to get the parts I need and any other information that I can glean. Any help would be appreciated.

These are great mowers. I'd highly recommend paying attention to the comments by Hard Knocks IV. I would also add that use of the bolts to hold the sections, rather than rivettes, is a major improvement, especially on the heel with the tapered steel strap.

Sounds like a 80R if the blade is behind the rear wheel. What parts do you need? I have a bunch of the twin wheel drive mowers in various conditions still use them to cut hay. They will really cut when fixed right the best one I have has the NH double guards with the John Deere hold downs sickle assemblies are available from Sickle Service in Nebraska great folks to deal with.

Thanks for the information. I really appreciate it. I am looking for the two caps that go on the connecting rods for the mower, the inside cap and the outside cap. If any one does have these, what do you want for them if you are willing to sell? Thank you, Murray.

Hi Murray

If it is a true side mount it will be an 80S or 82S. Now by true side mount, I mean it goes under the "belly" of the tractor and the sickle would run just in front of the drive tire. But you kind of through me off when you say 2 point. Does it hook to the back of the tractor with a special mount? If it does that it is a 80R mower. If it hooks into the snap coupler hitch under the tractor it is a No. 7 mower. Best place to find manuals for those mowers is ebay. The 80 series mowers were designed for the D series, WD and CA tractors. Hope this helps
