Can someone tell me if John Deere made a side discharge square baler. Heard that it was built in the fifties maybe. I have never been able to find anything about one.

I have 2 of them. First made in 1946 with the last being 1956, the 114W was a 14 x 18" baler, the 116W was the larger 16 x 18" bale and were either avaible with PTO or engine drive and use 4 spools of wire at the same time, 2 on bottom side and ends of bale with the second 2 spools for the top side of bale and no reserve wire, you had to know exactly when the wire ran out and stop to add wire, made big heavy bales up to 4' long, earlies discharged to ground, later came with wagon hitch and wagon loading bale shute

Pretty sure if you get around Tiffin, OH and head to the fairgrounds you will find one of these sitting there in the livestock sheds with a lot of other old equipment. Not sure why it is there. Must be a display for the fair. I am thinkin it is green and has the side chute.
