I posted about this before with no replies. What all needs to be done in order to weld the slip clutch and drive pully together. The 2 pins wont stay engaged in notched drive sprocket for rollers. When I done my 1st cutting I tried welding just the pins to notched plate which held up to finish up the last field but came loose just before finishing up.Now a few weeks away from 2nd cut and want to fix better.NOW WHAT TO DO ?

Take and weld the outer circumference of the part that has the pins and the part that has the jaws for the pins to fit into. If memory serves me correctly, these two pieces do not come together all the way around, but they do come together at enough places to get a decent weld. If either piece has any side to side play, make sure you bring them together as close as they can be. Steve

My 477 is doing the same thing. Is there a spring on the shaft (I don't think so)that holds the belt pulley towards the notched sprocket? What keeps the belt pulley in that direction? And if it won't stay engaged, what can you do???
