i have a john deere no. 5 mower and my operators manual talks about a "pea rower" attachment. does anyone know if this would work for hay to make a windrow or not, and what was this made out of, spring steel or regular steel?
thanks
Garry

I saw in the parts manual, there was one for hay it was longer closer to the mower, and hinged, I believe for the one style, another style windrowed up to the center of the bar. Didn't say what the stuff was made from tho. I saw a wheel for the outter shoe once to raise the bar up higher for pea cutting, it was on ebay sold for more that I paid for the mower. Love to hear it if you find one of these rigs. I thought about trying to make one, need the measurements tho. Other that that it looks pretty straight forward.

They used a side delivery windrower around here years ago. There are still some in the fence rows.
