V-tank spreader ?

I recently bought a V-tank spreader. Well used I might add. But it seems to work good. The gentleman I bought it from said it wasn't a Gehl but was made by a co. that Gehl bought out when they started to make the V-tank side delivery spreader,with the Gehl name on it.

Anyone here know what that Co. name might be?

One thing I noticed too. Gehl and NH spread from the right side.(or at least the pictures I've seen look to be from the right side) The spreader I have spreads from the left side.

Any help on this would be appreicated.

just for a little knowledge, lately Gehl is making the NH side deivery spreader these days, and NH is making the Gehl box spreader

Gehl bought out Martin. They built the origional "scavenger" spreader. However if your spreader unloads from the left it may be a Knight. Does the impeller have swinging flails or hammers? If it does it's a Knight.

It doesn't have flails or hammers. It has bolt on paddle/blades.(9 3/4in wide, with notches, bolt holes 6 in apart,9 blades total,on a drum). Just like in the picture of the Gehl on their wed site.

Thanks for the information. I was just curious as it being left side delivery and had only seen pictures of the right side delivery.

I use it to spread wood fly ash from a power plant.I tried the fertilizer pull type spreaders and this V-tank is the first spreader I found that I can get enough material per acre down with. It really moves the ash great. Slings it about 25 feet.

I also used the spreader to feed corn gluten pellets to the cows. We're in a drought here and been feeding cattle trying to save the pastures. I use the ground speed pto to feed with. It drops a nice even row. Was feeding 2.3 pounds per head per day.
