IH #16 sickle mower, years made?

I just bought an IH #16 sickle mower and I would like to know what years this particular model was made and the number produced.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Don't know year ending but parts book says the Series 16 mower started in 1940 with 6 different models in the linup. The 16A for the A tractor, 16B for the B tractor, the 16BN For the BN tractor, the 16H for the H, the 16M for the M and a 16HM. The 16H & the 16M were built 41-43 and the 16HM was 43- up. The 16 A & 16B started in 40 and the 16BN started in 41

Kirk the International Harvester book by C.H. Wendel says the No. 16 began production in 1940 and ran till 1953.

There were over 21,000 built.

By what I read it was the first belt drive mower built by IH.
