Problem with pickup binding on Massey 1560 rnd bal

Baling this evening and the pickup kept wanting to bind up causing the belt to slip. Took the belt off several times and could turn the pickup by hand freely, put it back together and start baling, it would stop every once in a while, bump the clutch in and out a few times and it would free up again. Checked all the teeth, everything underneath looks ok, doesn't seem to be either of the bearings on the end of the shaft. Noticed that one of the four bars that the teeth are boltd to has alot more slop in it than the others. Could there be something binding out on the left end where the rollers to flip the teeth up are? Baler is the same as Vermeer 504f I think. Thanks, Nick

Sounds like a cam follower gone bad. Get to it now, or you'll be buying a cam. I can't imagine that it would be cheap. The follower is basically a 10 dollar ball bearing in most cases, or a 10 dollar ball bearing will work, in most cases.....

Does it do it when you are close to a full bale? Could it be the full bale disconnect needs adjustment?

Sounds like the cam roller on that pickup bar might have jumped out of its track. The cam track is a spendy little item. We replaced the track and the rollers last summer on our 605F and eliminated the binding and clattering.
