I have an old disk that I was told is a Love Disk Harrow made by the Love Tractor Company. The disk was made somewhere in South West Michigan in the late 40s or early 50s. I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me something about the disk or the company. The disk needs quite a bit of work and I'd hate to end up just cutting it apart to haul it away if it is worth saving.

Thanks for any information you can share.

Dale I'm in SW Michigan over by Watervliet, and I'd be interested in it if you are planning to junk it or something...

Have seen the Love tractors but never heard of a disc harrow or any other machinery by that company

There were a zillion in Minnesota. Most of them
3 point I believe or did they also have the hitch
that went on the 3 pt lower arms and as you raise
the arms the gangs straightened out?? Mostly I
remember the wooden tubular one piece gang brgs.

I've seen a couple of those Love discs.
They were fairly light weight, had wooden bearings, and had formed pipe frames. Neither were adjustable and they had cheap, rolled or stamped metal spacers between the blades. I bought two of them at an auction for just over scrap price. Both of them were 3 point. Sold one to a guy who insisted he could repair/replace the worn out bearings. The other I still have. It is bent and mangled a bit but I've hung onto it just for the spare blades. I think the best part about each of them was they both still had good tags.

Ultradog; Sounds like one I have in front of the shop, a gift. Do you have any pictures of it? I have not found a tag on this one, it does take wooden bearings. Had a seat and looked set up for a team of horses not tractor. Bob
