We have got over 9 inches of rain in the last 3 days. I"d like to finish up the first cutting. Fields look like someone rolled the grass down. I haven"t been able to bale any hay for over a week now. I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem? And did New Holland ever make a boat? I could sure use one.

Yeah well, I live in Southeast Texas, and I have 2 fields of hay on the ground, and it has rained on them 7 days in a row. Totally disgusted.

My family lives in Sidney NY. Had 10.9 inches of rain in June. Had a tractor trailer washed in to a creek near their farm after it fell through a "crack" in a four lane highway, the drivers were killed. It's a mess out there. Farming is though enough without watching your crops go down the river.

Southern Maryland has seen more than enough the past couple of weeks. Last night a storm spun up tornado & took out a couple barns in the area. I spent ever weekend for a month working on the combine & baler to get them ready for oats & straw. Then when I was ready to cut the rain started, I like rain, we need rain, but its time for a break!!!!

5"+ in the last 3 days and its still raining. i haven't baled any first cutting round bales yet. there's about 40 acres overripe and somewhat flat. the second cutting is ready on the fields where we chopped the first cutting. some corn is under water.

We had several years of drought here in Montana, the creek that runs threw the place is still dry, even after the last couple of good years. Was never dry as long as any old timer can remember. In fact had to cut down cotton wood trees that were probably 75 years old cause died. I will never complain about rain that is for sure.

Pennsylvania is getting killed with rain. My hay is flat against the ground. The water actually washed it flat as it flowed by. Then the wind came and knowed the trees down. Spent 10 hours sat cutting trees off the fence. Didnt even start fixing the fences....

Here in the People's Republic of Connecticut we have had a terrible start. Wettest June that I can remember. It has rained 25 days out of the last 29. We were able to get about half of our 1st cutting in before the rains came. Some of the other guys were not even that fortunate.

To make things worse, we also had a couple of nasty storms that rolled everything about flat. Thank God for the Discbine!

Usually, we have all our 1st cutting in by July 1st. By the looks of the 10 day forecast, we may be able to cut again on Tuesday, the 4th.

I believe third cutting is going to be a little scarce this year.....

Please send the rain, less than 2/10's the past 60 days and about 75 days since anything of substance fire ban for our county started yesterday. So far no calls on the main rivers. calls have been on the small creeks since mid April. the water commissioners will earn their wages this year!!!!! !!!!

Yes....please make the rain go away. Over the last month, there was only one three day strech where we didn't get any rain. All I need is one week to get the rest of the hay in. I hate to say anything about the rain because doing so will mean that next year we won't get any.

Farmertee, we are having the exact opposite problem in my part of southern Ontario,crops are dry, second cut isn't growing, beans and corn are struggling, and nery a drop, we had less than 1/10th yesterday, just settled the dust. I hope you get some dry weather to get your work done, hope we get some to get things going. My pasture looks like it does in August..all the best to you...Mike in Exeter Ontario

that is strange, we have had enough rain that I can't really get much first cutting up. What is happening to the rain as it is crossing the Detroit River and Lake St. Clair?

Wet here in Atlantic Canada, we have had one 2 day stretch of weather to get hay in, I only got a couple of wagons in. We have 4 times the normal June rainfall so far.

I almost got stuck in the 4wd tractor in one of my sloping dry fields!
