If you hear anything about a New never used baler at prices below $12,500 it could be stolen.

Sorry to hear of that. I will keep my ears open but generally once stolen never to be seen again.

I have had box blades and parts stolen but nothing to the magnitude of your baler.

Best of Luck and post pics of them "swinging"

One of my dealers had a new Case 930 stolen off his lot in ND in the middle 60's. About 10 years later a farmer in Iowa brought an injection pump into a Case dealer for a rebuild. Case had sent SN's and injection pump numbers to all dealers. Farmer went to jail.

Did they steal it from you? My family has two new car dealerships and in the past 5 years we have had our shops broken into twice, with about $30,000 worth of tools stolen each time, a brand new Dodge diesel pick-up stolen of the front line and never seen again, an old used pick-up stolen and recovered a week later completely demolished, and once we had a brand new truck where somebody removed all the lug nuts and shook the truck till the wheels fell of and took the brand new wheels and tires and left the truck sitting on the brake rotors, and a year or so ago somebody broke into an employees vehicle that was sitting here after hors and stole a gun and torched the truck, it burn't to the ground and almost caught the building on fire! And we live in a very safe and low crime area of Missouri as compared to other parts of the country.

$30,000...was that shop owned tools?

I guess what I'm really wondering...do mechanics carry insurance on their personal tools? Or is covered by the shop their in? Never thought about it, but those young kids who sold their soul to Snap-On could be in a world of hurt without it!

Local semi-retired farmer near me...main business is antique house restoration parts. Several years back had some people still tools out of one his chicken coop come warehouse...that didn't bother him nearly as much as they had lit a fire that thankfully burnt itself out before extending -- tools are a few thousand; that old shed probably stores close to a quarter million in inventory at retail prices. He ended up having to put up gates and wire in a security system to cover his coop/warehouses.

Some shop owned and some mechanic owned. most of them carry some ins. as do we. You are right about those young mechains just out of tech school selling their soul to snap-on. Almost makes me sick to see how bad in hock some of those 20 year old kids get to the snap-on and matco man, and people think us car dealers stick it to people, they have no idea!

Sorry you think I am a joker. I was asking if they stole it from him, or I thought maybe it was stolen from another dealer he knew?
