I'm not sure if there was a change in the size of the bars, or if you simply have a different series shaft. There were several different series of shafts including the 14, 35, 44, and 55 which all denote a different bar size and a different yolk size, according to power rating. I'm pretty sure there was another size or 2 below the 14 as well. The 1 x 1-1/4" that you mention sounds like a 14 series shaft... I think there was a 12 series that might have been 1" square, but still had the same cross kit as the 14..... If you can't find the parts you need, you might find it just as cheap to buy a new shaft complete. The only catch with that is the length.... Watch out as a lot of shafts are made longer than necessary, and then simply cut to length. If you aren't handy with a welder, then you should probably pay a bit more and go with a metric shaft like a WalterScheid or Bondolini & Pavesi. They can be shortened in 10 minutes with a hacksaw. They're a better shaft too, albeit more expensive... The old square shafts like you have need to have the adapter cut out of the tube on the weld, cut the tube to the proper length, and then weld the adapter back into the tube, taking care to correctly phase the u-joints. Then you cut the bar to fit the tube. By the time that's all said and done, you're into an hour's work, and you need to be a good welder, and an accurate fitter.... I've done both, but for the most part I prefer the metric shaft. Bondolini and Pavesi is my preference. HTH. Rod
