I put a set of Yetter no till single disk dry fertilizer openers on my 7000 JD planter a few years ago. The sides of the tubes wear out pretty fast and a fairly small chunck of fertilizer will plug them up. Has anyone come up with a fix for these?

Not real familiar with how they are made, but are the disc opener bearings worn enough to let the openers rub on the tubes? Could the tubes be mnounted a bit farther back in the 'V'? When the JD 7000 tubes wore out, I replaced them with stainless from leftover pipeline milker tubing- doesn't rust.
