Just wanted to ask for your prayers. My son leaves for Iraq tomorrow and I have to say it is hard on me as well as all the other families whose loved ones have gone and are going now. He has to go to Mississippi first for a couple months then on to Iraq. I read this sight everyday and learn something all the time. Thanks for all your help with your insight. Tim

I did two tours in Iraq. First for the gulf war back in the early 90's. And then again in this one, a well. The news makes it sound worse than it is. If he keeps a cool head and depends on his buddies they will get each other through. I will keep him in my prayers as well as the rest of my buddies that are there. He will be fine and come home in one piece. Take comfort in the fact that you raised a son who believes in standing up for what he believes in. There are many today that like to talk a good game. But aren't willing to lay it down when the rubber meets the street. God will watch over him and he will be home soon.

God bless you and your son that you have raised a child with dignity to face the task, I too am a V/N vet. Its just a shame or a sham however you want to say it that we common people have to fight the rich mans wars, again god bless you!

May God Bless you and your son. I'll add him to my list of soldiers that I pray for each day. Please keep us posted on how he gets along. My son, age 25 just joined the Navy and leaves July 7 for basic and then to Florida for intel school. You can be proud that you raised a fine American. Chris

Good luck to your son in the Navy. Glad to see I am not the only one that joined the military a little later in life. I'm sure he will do great and enjoy a good career. I joined at 25 almost 21 years ago and just found out that I'll have to extend and stay a couple of more years if I want to wear the E-7 rank that I will be putting on in a couple of months. I'm sure he will enjoy himself and his time.

T May, my boy just got back about a month ago after a year and a half, and many on here sent heartfelt prayers everyday for him. I will continue to do the same for you and yours till this fiasco is over. May the Good Lord be with him . Harley
