NH baler problem

Nh 426 twine baler started the season Baled about 150 bales then sheared the kotter shear bolt just as the needles entered the bale chamber which cause the flywheel shear bolt to shear.Checked all the timing everything seems to be in time but now it does it about ever 4th balecan not seem to find the problem.The twine on the top of the bale is really tight wonder it that is the problem to much tenision on the knotter?Help

Jon, to find out if you are baling too tight, just loosen the press all the way and try baling. However, I suspect the problem is timing. No offense, but are you sure you are checking the timing properly? The plunger arm up front must be straight up and the needles MUST be in proper home position. Then, and only then can you line up the marks. Steve

Jon-I don't know much about the knotters but turn them over by hand to see if anything is binding or bent.Something must be turning hard to shear the bolt. I learned the hard way Monday-My twine holder plates got messed up and a piece of twine jammed and ended up breaking the knife arm and the main knotter frame.It broke the shear bolt at the same time. Expensive lesson but we all have those once in a while. Good Luck!
