My friend called and needs a "gear Box" for an old IH 3 pt hitch sickle mower. This is the box the pto shaft connects to and turns the large pully on the rear.I think it is merely a bearing and race deal in that box. He listed these part numbers found on the "gear box" 45897 RI 6789 and he is not sure about the last "9". I sent the few pictures found so far of IH mowers and he said the 1300 was close. Where is the mower model number supposed to be located so we can order the right parts manual?
Or where can more pictures be located so maybe we can identify the mower that way.? HELP? TKS>

The model number is located on the top link connector on the left side. It is a decal.

Model number ll00 is a trailer type Model number 1200 is a 2 point hitch
Model number 1300 is a 3 point hitch

New Idea and Ford also sold the same mower under their model numbers. If you need bearings, take the bearing nunmbers off the races and an automotive store should be able to get you the bearings.

Rowse's Hydraulic Rake Co. Burwell NE,(Tele. 800-652-1912) purchased the Internationl and New Holland sickle bar mowers from New Holland and you should be able to get parts from them. (Nice people to deal with).
