I bet the rain quits as soon as my 1st cutting is all done.

Send it a few counties west- I can stick my hand into field cracks. We got maybe quarter inch last nite, while TC got flooded. Gratefull for any- corn on the clay has been curling and pale on the hot days, nearby light soil has some really poor looking spots. But as luck would have it, uffda says the national yield will be 149 bpa, even before planting was done.

I am sitting here in Central Iowa hoping for some rain!!! Second cutting should start right now as we are in 1/10 bloom already, but we need the rain in my area!!!

Kelly, I know the feeling. I�m about 2/3 done with the first cutting. Been waiting for another window to finish cutting for a week and a half. I hate to say it, but it looks like father�s day is it. They are forecasting 20% and 30% for the middle of the week. Time to roll the dice.

Kelly: I really wish you wouldn't be so greedy with that rain. Your more than generous all winter with those damn cold winds blowing into SW Ontario from the west.

I'll almost bet my grass hasn't grown a 1/2" since I mowed it last weekend, just turned brown. I had been mowing weekly since mid April.

Me to, Managed to get 16 acres rolled up today. Only have 20 more down and 85 left to cut and the radar's all lit up tonite again! Just can't seem to catch more than 1 dry day in a row this year. O well I guess its better than everything dryed and burnt up like some parts of the country. Did you get any bites on the 706 yet?

Down here by New Ulm, was getting _so_ dry the ground was cracked - deep. But we would get 3 hundreths of an inch almost every day, to wreck hay making too.

Now of course I have water standing in my fields, and hay waiting to cut, and hay laying on the ground, & I rolled 7 bales of pretty damp stuff today....

At least I ignored the weathermen & got most of the alfalfa in the barn pretty good condition.
