Any idea who made it? What is it normally used for?
Did Dearborn/Ford build such a tool? Owner says there's no tags or markings on it. Could it be home made?.
I've got a little depression where the water collects and wondered if I could use something like this to cut a very gentle banked ditch away from it.

One way, disk tiller, discer, pick one. Used to be all over for giving grain ground a scratch after harvest to germinate thrown grain and weeds. I've got one built by Bush Hog where the discs are powered by the tractor PTO, 8 feet wide, do an easy 35 acres a day, forget about them in sod.

Someone currently manufactures a heavier unit for maintenance on gravel roads. Cuts the sod at the edge of the road, lets the water drain off. Makes up for the grader operator dropping the edge of the blade too deep, leaving a ridge.

It's called a one way disc around here. Very handy for small plots or larger gardens.

Don't know the actual name, but a lot of the fruit orchards and vineyards in SW Michigan use
them.

I have seen them used after planting to throw some of the dirt from the row back to the vines to mount them a little. Some are a little smaller and side mounted to see the trees/vines easier.

Never seen anyone try to cut deep with one.

See a one or two a year at the auctions.

Here in Kansas that would be refered to as a "one way". I have seen "disk tiller" used as the formal name for it. They are different than disk plows in that they do not go as deep and all the blades are on a common shaft. It can be thought of as a cross between a disk plow and a regular disk harrow. Most in this area were much wider and were pull-types. They were used to work down wheat stubble and get the ground ready for the next crop in the fall. Few, if any, are used anymore by commercial farmers.

I think its a ford or dearborn one-way disc plow.
