Anybody seen an 8-foot cultivator?

Has anyone ever seen or have a picture of a cultivator that I remember seeing on my grandparent's farm? The cultivator (don't know manufacturer) was an 8 foot wide cultivator with two manual raising and lowering sections. The sections were raised and lowered by squeezing a release on the top of a lift/lower bar. I think there were two rows of cultivator shoes in each section. If I remember correctly, there were two steel wheels on the cultivator. I believe this was made in the 1930's or 1940's. We used to use it to cultivate shelterbelts behind a 1941 Case Model S tractor. I have the tractor but I think the cultivator got sold off for scrap back in the early 1980's. If anyone has a picture of what I've tried to describe I'd appreciate seeing it... or knowing what type of cultivator I need to start looking for.

Sounds like a horse drawn field cultivator. Were the wheels large like the wheels on a hay rake? I know John Deere made one that I think sounds like you are describing except you are a decade to late on years for theres and others made similar

It's possible that it could be a John Deere, several pieces of equipment on their farm were John Deere... but they had a little bit of everything. The wheels were probably 20"-24" tall. They weren't as tall as a hay rake. There is another even smaller horse drawn cultivator on the farm, it has a seat on it. I'd guess and say that this cultivator was one generation newer than the horse drawn one.

Not what I was thinking of. The next generation of field cultivator had 28" wheels but was a clutch lift model

I don't think the wheels were that tall... I'm thinking about 20" maximum. I'd have to see some pictures (I'll be looking) to see if anything rings a bell.

I wasn't sure what that was so I looked it up. It isn't that either, it was a basic cultivator and not one for row crops. I wish I had a picture of it. I'm guessing that the shovels were spaced about 12"-18" apart, with two rows of shovels. The levers pulled up and lowered the back half in two sections (left - right). Steel wheels. I don't remember ever seeing any paint on it, just rust color. Not much wider than the Case Model S tractor.

The best I can do is give a basic drawing. Black is frame and shovels, green is wheels, red is the raising and lowering handle.

Nope. The one I'm talking about had a right and left 4-foot section that raised and lowered with the handle in the center (or possibly the inner side)of each section. The front half was basically a rectangular frame with the rear half split into two 4-foot sections, the whole cultivator was maybe 8' wide x 6'-8' deep in size.
