New Idea Disc Mower

Well the mower quit Sunday afternoon. The discs would turn until you put a heavy load on them and then they would just stop. I called the dealer and he told me the hex shaft had spun inside the drive bearing.

Got home last night and sure enough after teardown the shaft was shot. It would only come out the outside end. After looking at it and talking with the neighbor we decided that the shaft should be able to be turned around and still work.

Started the reassambly and found the shaft had a slight twist in it and it was hard to get through the bar assembly. The twist was so small that you couldn't see it. Finally got the shaft in and started bolting everything together. Will finish it tonight and see if it works.
