Why yes you can!!!! Not about to say its easy or the best way but Yes you can save your rained on hay with a old hay rake.
Cut hay on Wednesday and it rained 2 inches on Friday. DRAT!!!
Sat I got out the rake and raked 2 swaths into one windrow. Then raised the rake all the way up on the left side and about 50% on the right. This spread the windrow out accross a 6 foot swath. Sunday after noon it dry enough to bale.

Looks to me like it came out pretty good.

Kelly, a rake will do a lot of things for you. You did a good job on the hay ,it looks good. I often take 4 rows of teeth off my rake and use the tail to flip the windrow, and with a little practice you can pretty much turn a row upside down to dry, have speeded up haying many times by flipping the hay over a few hours before we are ready to bale. I'd take that load of hay anytime! Mike in Exeter Ontario

Should have seen me getting those last few bales on. 2 bales stacked on the tail gate. Standing on them to get the top ones on the rack. Still had the topper full too. Only wanted one rack to drag 30 mi to the house.
