I have a 273 baler that runs and bales good. i have done some work on it but i got it for the money. What I need to know is there any adjustments for the pickup and where is it located? It wants to slip sometime and bind up. Then I gotta back up. Any help is appreciated.

I'd say you better take the guards off and take a good look inside. I'm really new to this and I just bought a N.H. 271. Everything baled great after some adjustments and got over 600 bales but noticed about what you're seeing. Last time it pretty much quit picking up for me. Next morning, I took guards off and found the problem. The disks that hold the bars with the pickup teeth on them were worn terribly and it caused the bars that hold the teeth to wear through in some places. Got quoted just under $150 for each disk (3 of them and only 2 were available from manufacturer) and just under $90 for the bars (4 of them). If I had caught it sooner, I think a little welding repair would have prevented it. Sure hope you come out better than I did. Good luck.
