I posed this ? on the farmall board too. Local balers for sale. 271 is very clean and well kept. No damage. 275 is not quite so well kept and has some sheet metal damage and looks a bit tired. I don't know about the mechanism. Is the 275 that much better that I should pass up a 271 in better condition? I have 50 acres to hay.

I have no idea which is the better deal. I can offer this from my own experience, I bought a S67 NH baler, it is as ugly as they get with most of the guards missing and it had a welded on trailer axle. It made good bales, had a mis-tye ever in a great while always on the same knotter.

I found a better looking and complete NH 68 without any frankenstien repairs. I'm happier with the nice looking baler, although it has more of a tendancy to make bananna bales. The S67 never did. If the S67 looked as good as my NH 68 does it would still be in the field. (I know I'll get the bale problem figured out.)

I would buy the baler in better condition.

That is the way I am leaning. Thanks
