Hi Case Lady and Punchie, I was just wondering the same thing as I was waiting for the computer to start up. I got greeted by another little Angus heifer this morning when I drove into the yard. Third calf for her, both fine, easy calving when they have been there..er ah,jeez Case Lady ,you said it takes a lot outta ya, I wuz thinking ifn ya had a calf every year for ten years they'd slide out fairly easily (refering to the herd). Anyway I don't care if you have 3 cows, 30 or 300 I hate to hear about a cow down while caving, but is sounds like shes got a lot going, eating drinking, moving when you coax her, I'm thinking shes gonna be OK..take care folks Mike in Exeter Ontario

if she can and will get up by herself, she will more than likely be okay. If that shot the vet gave her is some sort of anti-inflammatory, that would be a good thing. If not, you might get some type of a-i and give to her. Take it from a female - having a baby really takes a lot out of you and if she strained trying to have it for a long time, her muscles and nerves just need some time to return to normal. As long as she can actually get up and her appetite remains strong, she should be okay in about a week. Good Luck. CL
