I need some advice on how hard is it to replace the top seal in a 2500 psi ram (fits on my 3 point hitch). Hyraulic fluid is starting to squirt out of the seal at the top of the piston. I'm asking because this ram has four bolts that run the length of the body and I'm not quite sure how to tear it down. Also a little concerned if it's still under pressure after being removed from it's brackets. May be a dum question but better dum than dead....with my head on the moon.

When you loosen the hose that goes into the cylinder- the pressure is released. You have a bad seal at the piston head of the cylinder- look for a flat spot or other damage on the cylinder rod. You might also have a bad o-ring on the ram. Any little damage on the o-ring will let oil by- and the oil gets pushed out of the end seal.
