Time to get 2006 haying season going.
Took my newly rebuilt Farmall 706 and my just got it working NH 461 haybine over to the 6 acre field I planted last spring.
Boy does that field look nice. I planted a mix of Alfalfa/ Timmothy/ Broam. I was suprised at how nice the Alfalfa is coming up. Pretty thick for a 1st cutting I thought. The timothy in it is at a perfect stage for cutting and the Broam is really adding volume to the whole stand.
Best of all no dang clover in it. Not ever going to buy any premixed seed again

706 is all gassed up and ready and the 461 is greassed up raring to go. Will get er cut after work tomnorow. Then its up to the weatherman how my hay comes out.

I hope the weather is being more cooperative in MN than IN. Another week with a chance of rain every day. I have got up half of my first cutting. It got wet, before I had tedded or rake it. Turned out better than I thought it would of. I can't wait to see pics of your 706. Is the ole NH 68 ready? Good Luck!
John

I finished last night. Have put up around 1300 small square bales. I may mow enough for about 200 more bales but I don't have to. Its always great to have the hay finished for the year.

Oh yeah. Scratchin for anything we can find here. Gotta run in town this afternoon and knock down 20 acres of alfalfa.

Good luck on the hay cutting Kelly and let us know how it works out. I think I am about 2 - 3 weeks away from cutting depending on the weather. I picked up another field to do this year so will be my biggest year yet. Still going to use sickle mower. Hope it works out. Paul

Good luck. May you have good weather and no equipment failure! I started day before yesterday. I cut 20 acres of wheat and guess what, an inch of rain today! Oh well, I guess the pasture needed it. Have fun.
