I bought this old witch last winter, it didn't cost as much as it does to load my116 John Deere with wire. My neighbor has one of these balers and it is bullet proof he and my cousin put up about 5000 squares a year with this rascal and it just doesn't miss a bale! With that in mind I bought this baler and it had been sitting out for a number of years. I got it home yesterday and started over it with penetrating oil.I have everything loose but the plunger. So far I have soaked it unhooked it from the crank loosened the adjusting bolts made sure the knifes were not stuck put a comalong on it to pull it forward as it is about to the end of the stroke it did not budge it. I blocked the wheels and hooked a chain on it and tried to pop it a little with the tractor all that did was jerk the baler around, I put a long pipe on the back through the bale chute and tries to pop it a few licks with a sledge hammer, I am running out of ideas is their some place that I should be appling heat? Any and all suggestions would be very much appreciated as I am about to loose my temper with this thing!

had the same thing last year with my oliver baler. i took the four slide rails loose and finally got it to slide a little at a time. move and inch back and forth. used alot of penetrating oil and old motor oil to soak it down good, that seemed to help.

Don't give up on this baler. We sold a huge # of
them. The problem is leaving it outside-rust. You
will have to remove the slide rails, rust builds
up behind the rails and forces them outward as to
tighten the rails into the plunger. This is not
easy. I can't recall if we could take the bolts
out of the rails and let them slide until some-thing loosens-that is at least a possibility??
If you can move the plunger but it stays tight it
will just heat up if you run. The rust under the
rails has to be scraped or removed w/chemical.
