I recently aquired a 494A planter to put some corn and pumkins in with. This is my first year planting, so bear with me. I've read all the archives and info I can find regarding seed plates, and visited the LincolnAg site but can't seem to locate the conversion chart for the old metal JD plates. I have some Lustran plates and some metal JD plates, but can't compare the two. I've ordered pumpkin plates from my JD dealer.
Any one who has a link to the conversion info, or could e-mail me a copy?
Also, when making up plates from blanks, what is the correct orientation of the seed, and how close do the size tolerances have to be?
Thanks guys!
Gregg
