I bet my parts eat your parts Allan! Just a few sickle sections, and drive sprockets. The boxes contain rake teeth and the larger brown box has reel teeth for the swather. Came to $677
It justs costs a lot per acre to cut hay. I'm guessing it costs me several bucks an acre year in and year out just for repairs alone. Anybody ever keep track?

The IH utilities 74 84 series have saddle tanks. There are 4 sprockets there, the 2 red ones you see and one more in the box + the idler. You are looking at $350 right there.

Ya know what? There's a chance I made those sprockets, the shop I worked at up til yesterday (got a new job) makes sprockets for AGCO. Quite a few prints I see have Hesston on them. Trouble is AGCO marks up the price buy quite a bit because I know they wouldn't cost more than $100-150 if a local farmer would have brought them in for replacement. Just yesterday I replaced about 4-5 sprockets on the original hub/shaft for a few different locals.

I never keep track....afraid what I might find out. Oh well, cost was not the issue when I decided to get into hay. Availability and quality were the problem. By the way, thank you very much for the tip on the feed grinder manual last week and for not bidding me up. I bought the item yesterday on ebay. Much appreciated!
