I'm converting a 72" three blade finish mower to front mount for use on a skidsteer and need to convert the 1000 RPM PTO drive to hydraulic drive. Can anyone suggest a mfgr and model# for a suitable hydraulic motor? How much torque does the motor need to have?

Thanks

I have seen attachments for those mower or other 3 point atachments that hook to the skidloaders but a can not rember the name of the company. The motor has a 540 shaft for implements.

Are you sure it is 1000 most of those mowers I have seen are 540?

Sizing a hydraulic motor is a little more complicated than just figureing the torque required for the application.

You need to know what horsepower you have available at your outlets on the skid steer. If you have the flow and pressure Stats that is suficient. From that, size the motor to get yourself the correct speed for the application (540 or 1000 rpm as needed). Torque required will be determined by how fast you are trying to mow.

I will include a link for Burdens Surplus Center. They have all sorts of Hydraulic goodies at reasonable prices.

Hope this helps
