You want to rebuild the cutter head on our 1014? I started at tearing it apart just to see what needs to be done- just might have to get a complete kit from SickleService.com, but for now

I'd be happy if I can get a good sickle bar in it for now and replace a few busted/bent guards this year. It's supposed to be a 2 sickle unit, and then it's supposed to overlap on the 2 middle ones and be bolted together. The previous owner didn't have the register set right so he put 4 sections where there's supposed to be 2, and did a little welding to try and get it right... Looks like the right side bar broke off at one point right by those 2 middle sections..... Gonna have to do some work on it, but I think I can get it ready for 1st crop this year.

Defiantley gotta do somethin' bout that sickle tho...

Good luck with it ol' friend, 'cause I've had all the silly sickelin' I need for one year. :>)

I've got to repack the wheel bearings and check the gearbox and this one is ready to go.

However, the dry is startin' to show now. Might not even need any hay equipment if it doesn't rain pretty darned soon. :>(

Things are just staring to dry up around here after about 1 1/2 weeks of rain. The corn's been in 2 weeks and still isn't up... Not a good sign but we're still hoping. Seems most of the neighbor's corn is up already, just not ours. Go figure.

I guess the previous owner of this machine just cut rocks with it and let his 7 year old son "fix it" with a hammer and a welder. Nothing too major, just costs a little bit to rebuild it is all.
